First cooking class Ingredients

Pastry Kebab (Mülföylu Canak  Kebab)

Ingredients :

300 - 400 gr lamb meat, cut in small chunks
3 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium carrot
1 large potato
1 cup of green peas, boiled
1 egg yolk
6 packets of frozen pastry daugh
Salt, black pepper, thyme, red pepper flakes
Bulgur Pilaf
1 cup bulgur wheat, whole grain large, washed and drained
1 onion, chopped
1 tomato, diced
1 tsp tomato paste (optional)
1 banana/green pepper, chopped
2 tbsp butter/oil
2 cups hot chicken stock/2 cups hot water and chicken bouillon
1 tsp salt to taste (1/2 tsp if using chicken bouillon)

Shepherd Salad (Çoban Salatasi)

2 tomatoes, chopped
1 cucumber, chopped in cubes
1 small onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped (optional)
½ cup feta cheese, shredded/crumbled
½ cup parsley, chopped
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp vinegar
Salt to taste, sumac (optional)


Sweet Pastry and Cocoa Cookies with Syrup (Şekerpare ve Islak kurabiye)
3 Tbsp cocoa powder (for Cocoa Cookies with Syrup)
¼ cup semolina wheat (for Şekerpare)
1 stick of butter
½ cup vegetable oil
½ cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla powder
2 cups of flour
Syrup: 3 cups of water, 3 cups of sugar,

juice of 1 lemon
